James Martin Roberts was the ninth child born to John Iverson and Crissa Barnett Roberts and was known to all as 'Jim'. Jim was born June 5, 1853, in Attala County, Mississippi. His boyhood was spent in Attala County, but he went to Winston County to find his bride. Jim and Martha Drusilla Crow were married on October 2, 1873. Martha was the daughter of Spencer and Polly Roebuck Crow and was born on November 9, 1851. Jim and Martha moved with his brother, Doc, and one other brother, to Hollandale, Mississippi and then to Satartia in Yazoo County. Jim spent his life in farming. He and Martha were to have nine children, five girls and four boys. James Martin Roberts died on July 30, 1921, and Martha Drusilla Crow Roberts died on June 2, 1943. Both are buried at the cemetery at the Liverpool Baptist Church.

Charles Marcus Roberts was born on November 1, 1860, in Attala County, Mississippi. He was the 12th of 13 children born to John Iverson and Crissa Barnett Roberts. Charles married Beuna Vesta Miriam Dorrill in Leake County, Mississippi on January 20, 1881. Beuna was born in Winston County, Mississipp, on July 10, 1859. She was the daughter of John Combee and Elizabeth Roebuck Dorrill. Charles and Beuna resided for the majority of their married lives in the Marydell Community of Leake County. In addition to his farming activities, Charles served two terms (1908-1916) as a member of the Board of Supervisors of Leake County. He was also very active in the Primitive Baptist Church, serving in several positions. Charles and Beuna were the parents of ten children, five boys and five girls. Charles Marcus Roberts died on December 6, 1936, at the age of 76. Miriam Beuna Vista Dorrill Roberts died on July 10, 1952, at the age of 93. Both are buried at the Rocky Point Cemetery in Leake County, Mississippi. Source: Howard O. Leach
