| Note* | Graduated from Eagle Lake High School in 1964. He served voluntarily in the United State Marine Corps from June 1964 to June 1968. He received two shrapnel wounds in each of him arms and on shrapnel would to his head from an enemy rocket attack while in combat in South Vietnam, Southeast Asia. The shrapnel wound to his head caused the shrapnel to end up in the middle of his brain. The doctors could not remove it. He went through the rest of his life with the shrapnel in his brain. He received numerous medals for his service in Vietnam. When his enlistment was up, he received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. He went to work for American Telephone & Telegraph Company in July 1968 as a communications technician | |
